Review: Epic Soap Co. Orange Patchouli Clove Soap

Revamp from August 2016

Lately, I’ve been collaborating a lot with Etsy shops in the United States to try to further their businesses. I like knowing that I can take part in helping someone grow their small business, and the owners of the Epic Soap Co. on Etsy were kind enough to send me an awesome PR package to help give their shop a little more exposure. As always, I hope you love reading these reviews as much as I love writing them. Let’s get into it already!

This soap contains palm oil, olive oil pomade, sunflower oil, coconut oil, shea butter, avocado oil, spring water, lye, ground orange peels & clove powder, essential oils: patchouli, sweet orange, pink grapefruit, and clove bud. I really have no complaints about the ingredients list, as usual. And like this company’s other soaps, this is also vegan friendly. However, I will add to begin with that despite this soap containing lye, this is absolutely not drying in any way, like typical lye based soaps tend to be.

Epic Soap Co.’s Orange Patchouli Clove Soap has kind of a unique scent, and I do admit that it’s not for everyone. However, this is a very “Christmas friendly” scent. If you don’t discriminate with your winter holiday scents, you’ll definitely appreciate this one. The scent has super strong patchouli and clove notes, but the citrus scents tame it really well. It’s pretty strong smelling in general, but it’s not overpowering once you’re actually using it in the shower or just to wash your hands. This soap does leave a soft scent behind that may clash with other fragrances, but by itself it smells soft and spicy.

For the last tidbits of how I feel about this soap, I’m going to quote from the last review I wrote for Epic Soap Co. because I really did word it perfectly:

Overall, I’m still really loving Epic Soap Co.’s products and would definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone I cross paths with that’s interested in trying out a natural soap brand. I really do think all of their products that I’ve had the pleasure of testing out for you guys are phenomenal. In addition, since colder weather is coming and everyone is already going pumpkin crazy (not that that’s a bad thing at all, because I’m one of those people), I do have to say that this would make a great addition to your bath time routine if you’re ready to say goodbye to summer.

As always, please let me know your feedback, and drop me a line if you’ve decided to try Epic Soap Co. If you’re interested, you can purchase this particular soap here for $6 for a 4.5-5 oz. bar or try a sample for just $2. Plus they ship internationally and throw in a free gift with every purchase!

As always, any feedback you may have is certainly welcome. If you enjoyed this post, please give it a like and take a look at my last review on an Epic Soap Co. product here.

Always,

♥Char.

Review: Natural.Pure.Honest Shower Scrubbie

Revamp from August 2016

Lately, I’ve been collaborating a lot with Etsy shops in the United States to try to further their businesses. I like knowing that I can take part in helping someone grow their small business, so the owner of Natural.Pure.Honest on Etsy was kind enough to send me a lovely PR package to help give her shop a little more exposure. As usual, I hope you like reading these reviews as much as I love writing them. This is one of my favorites, so lets jump in!

Natural.Pure.Honest’s Shower Scrubbie contains adzuki beans, cocoa butter, shea butter, essential oils, and ground brown rice. The ingredients list for this particular product is so simple, and less is definitely more.

According to Natural.Pure.Honest’s Etsy, this product has a top note of bergamot, a middle note of lavender, and a low note of frankincense. It smells really minty as soon as you pull it out of the packaging. However, once you start washing with it, it smells ever so slightly of lavender and oatmeal. I know that’s weird, but that’s at least what I smell. The scent also lingers on your skin for a bit, but I love it. It’s really relaxing and I always reach for this if I’ve had a long day and want to wind down without taking a bath.

This product is meant to be a combination of a moisturizer and exfoliant. Let me tell you… this works wonders. I honestly can’t even begin to explain how awesome my skin has been since I’ve been using this Shower Scrubbie. I have extremely sensitive skin with touches of eczema on my forearms. This is the only product I’ve tried thus far (in my life, not just the stuff I’ve blogged about) that has calmed the redness on my skin and smoothed out my rough patches without causing any other irritations. I only have to use this about once every three days and I have yet to experience any issues since incorporating it into my shower routine.

Overall, I can’t live without Natural.Pure.Honest’s Shower Scrubbie, and I don’t know how I ever did before. The ingredients are super gentle while still doing their jobs, the smell is so calming, and the effects this has on my skin are just amazing. If you were wondering which product I would recommend from this particular Etsy shop if I had to pick just one, this is it. Without hesitation. You need this in your life.

You can find Natural.Pure.Honest’s Shower Scrubbie here for $22.50 for 3 – 3.5 oz bars (or $7.50 each). The site says each bar lasts about 25 showers, but from experience, they last wayyyylonger, so this is definitely a steal. If you’re in the market for an amazing, natural body scrub that’s great for sensitive skin, look no further. Seriously.

BUT WAIT: There’s more.

While Natural.Pure.Honest only ships within the United States, the shop owner is running a promotion right now where you’d get free shipping on your order. You can visit the Natural.Pure.Honest Esty Shop here.

As always, I hope you enjoyed this review and please leave me your feedback! If you want to read more about Natural.Pure.Honest’s products, check out my last review here.

Review: Epic Soap Co. Pink Grapefruit Solid Lotion Bar

As usual, I hope you love reading these as much as I love writing them. Let’s get started!

Unfortunately, I wish I could tell you how much this lotion bar costs, the other scents Epic Soap Co. offers, or what the ingredients are, but Epic Soap Co. no longer has this specific product listed in their Etsy shop or on their website. However, I can tell you my experience with it, and I’ll get to why a little later.

I received this lotion bar in the pink grapefruit scent. It definitely didn’t smell like much, and that’s unfortunate, but it did work like a charm. When you first put this on, it’s a little difficult to spread around on your skin, but warming it up first really helps. Once it’s on, your skin will feel a little tacky and greasy, for lack of a better word. However, the tackiness goes away in a few minutes and your skin feels moisturized. This particular solid lotion bar is particularly good for sensitive skin, as I remember that it actually doesn’t have that many ingredients, and the vast majority (if not all) of them were 100% natural. I have super sensitive skin along with some very minor eczema and this didn’t irritate me at all. I also noticed a dramatic difference in how hydrated my skin looked when I used this as opposed to when I neglected it.

Here’s why I told you what I thought: If you’re interested in trying this product, you can keep an eye out on Epic Soap Co.’s website here to see when it comes back into stock. Another option is for you to contact the seller on Etsy and they can handle any questions you may have about ordering this product.

As always, please let me know any feedback and if you’ve decided to try out any of Epic Soap Co.’s products. I promise you won’t be disappointed! If you liked this review, please check out the last one on Epic Soap Co.’s Ginger Pear Soap.

Always,

Review: Simple Soap and Gifts Face Soap

Revamp from August 2016

Lately, I’ve been collaborating a lot with Etsy shops in the United States to try to further their businesses. I like knowing that I can take part in helping someone grow their small business, so the owner of Simple Soap and Gifts on Etsy was kind enough to send me a lovely PR package to help give her shop a little more exposure. As always, I hope you love reading these reviews as much as I love writing them. Let’s get to it!

So, a funny thing happened… I wish I could tell you the ingredients in Simple Soap and Gifts’ Face Soap, but I lost the wrapper and they aren’t listed on this seller’s Etsy  😦  If you’re curious as to what’s in this soap and whether or not it would work for you, I would totally give Simple Soap and Gifts a visit on Etsy and send a message to the seller. She’s been super accommodating with me and I’m sure she can answer any questions you may have.

Aside from that little oops, I can at least tell you how this product worked for me. This face soap smells super familiar, and I can’t put my finger on it. It doesn’t have a super strong scent, but it does smell like some other beauty products I’ve used in the past. However, once you’re using this soap, you can’t smell it at all and the scent that it does have certainly doesn’t linger on your skin at all. So even if you’re super sensitive to smells, I still think that this would be good for you.

This soap lathers really well and does make your face feel really clean. Within a few hours of using Simple Soap and Gifts’ Face Soap I did notice that my skin was a bit oily, but not to a bothersome extent. I also never had any sensitivity issues with this face soap (e.g. no new acne, no irritations, no redness).

Overall, I think it’s a good facial soap, and just like the last review for Simple Soap and Gifts that I did, even the sample size of this soap (1.35oz) that comes in this seller’s Custom Soap Favors lasts forever. I would definitely say that if this particular soap is something that you’re interested in, it’s a steal. You can buy this soap (or any other of this seller’s 14 scents) in a 2.75oz bar for $4.50 each here.

As always, please let me know your feedback, check out my latest review linked above, and drop me a line if you’ve decided to try Simple Soap and Gifts!

Always,

♥Char

Review: Natural.Pure.Honest Georgia Peach Soap

Revamp from August 2016

Lately, I’ve been collaborating a lot with Etsy shops in the United States to try to further their businesses. I like knowing that I can take part in helping someone grow their small business, so the owner of Natural.Pure.Honest on Etsy was kind enough to send me a lovely PR package to help give her shop a little more exposure. As always, I hope you love reading these reviews as much as I love writing them. So lets jump right into this, shall we?

Natural.Pure.Honest’s Georgia Peach soap contains olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, castor oil, lye, kaolin clay, distilled water, fragrance oils, and mica. I’m pretty pleased with the ingredients in this soap, but because it contains kaolin clay and lye, just be advised that this might dry you out, however that wasn’t the case with me.

While using this soap, I do have to say that it lathers really well. The texture is very smooth and it feels nice on the skin. Once you’re done washing, there will be a slight film on your skin, but when you dry off it goes away and your skin is left really soft. This soap also leaves behind a faint peach fragrance, which is honestly my favorite part. It’s super soothing if you’re a big fan of peach scents. Speaking of the scent, this also smells like actual peach versus some soaps that smell super chemically. This soap also lasts forever. My husband and I both used just this soap while showering, twice a day, for over a week. That being said, this is definitely a good investment, especially at just $5 for a 3.5-5oz bar.

Overall, I’m super satisfied with this soap. In fact, I think it’s my second favorite product I had the privilege of trying from Natural.Pure.Honest. You’ll get to read about my absolute favorite in a later post, so hang tight 🙂 If you’re looking for good homemade soap to finish off the summer with, you definitely need to pick this one up.

BUT WAIT: There’s more!

Review: Epic Soap Co. Ginger Pear Soap

So, let’s talk…

Epic Soap Co.’s Ginger Pear Soap contains coconut oil, palm oil, rice bran oil, avocado oil, sodium hydroxide, spring water, ground organic ginger, and fragrance. I really have no complaints about the ingredients list, as usual. And like this company’s other soaps, this is also vegan friendly. However, I will add to begin with that despite this soap containing sodium hydroxide, this soap didn’t really sud while using it; but it’s not like I’m complaining either way ;P

While using this soap, I do have to say that it felt nice and it lasted a long time, There’s really nothing negative to say. In fact, typically when you use a soap, you get a film on your skin until you towel dry, but I didn’t find that to be the case with this soap at all. That’s a plus in my book. As for the scent, it smells just like Christmas. The pear scent isn’t overbearing at all – it seems like just the perfect mixture in conjunction with the ginger scent. The scent does linger on your skin for a few hours once you’re dry, but it’s not strong and won’t clash with any perfumes or colognes if you choose to use any.
