Review: Epic Soap Co. Lemongrass Deodorant

Revamp from August 2016

Since June, I’ve been collaborating with a lot of Etsy shops in the United States to try to further their businesses. I appreciate knowing that I can take part in helping someone grow their small business. That being said, he owners of Epic Soap Co on Etsy were kind enough to send me an awesome PR package to help give their shop a little more exposure. Like always, I hope you enjoy reading these reviews as much as I love writing them for you. Let’s jump in…

Epic Soap Co.’s Natural Deodorant in Lemongrass contains arrowroot powder, baking soda, coconut oil, shea butter, beeswax, Vitamin E, and fragrance oil or essential oils of your choice. Like usual with this shop, I have zero complaints about their ingredient list. In case you were wondering what arrowroot powder is, it’s a thickener likened to corn starch; nothing to worry about! However, unlike most products in this particular shop, this deodorant is not vegan friendly because it contains beeswax. However, that’s not a deal breaker for me at all.

This natural deodorant is sold in 24 different scents, which I’m sure all smell absolutely amazing like everything else Epic Soap Co. makes. However, let’s talk about the scent I received.. As soon as I saw the packaging, I went,“Oh no,” because the first thing that popped up into my head was the old Dove Lemongrass deodorant, which smelled like lemony garbage. This is totally not the case with this deodorant. It actually smells quite nice. I don’t smell any of the bitterness of the lemongrass, just a lot of the citrus. If you’re looking for a super fresh and clean scent, I’d definitely recommend this one.

This is where things get different. I wouldn’t really consider this a traditional deodorant in any sense. The lotion itself is really solid, but it melts with the heat of your hands or body. I would really suggest warming it a little by holding it under your arm for a few seconds before swiping back and forth, otherwise it sticks a little. Once its on your skin, it doesn’t really dry. It stays super creamy all day, but it doesn’t ruin your clothes! Living in Florida, I sweat a ton, and the only weird thing I noticed is that when you’re reallysweating (I’m talking sweating like you’re running a marathon in the middle of summer), it does tend to run a little. But, like I stated earlier, this isn’t an issue at all because it doesn’t hurt your clothing. You might just get a little bit of an odd feeling. I’m still not complaining.

Overall, I really enjoyed this product. It smells nice and works really well. I also noticed that I never had to reapply this throughout the day; once in the morning was always enough. That being said, I will definitely be repurchasing when I eventually run out (because it lasts forever). If you’re in the market for an all natural deodorant that actually works and is super affordable, this is the only one I would recommend, even out of all of the mass retailer brands available.

If you’re interested in purchasing Epic Soap Co.’s Natural Deodorant, you can buy it here for just $7, they’re still offering a free gift with purchase, and they ship internationally! As always, please let me know if you’ve enjoyed this read and if you plan on giving Epic Soap Co. a try! I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂 You can also check out my last review on Epic Soap Co.’s Orange Patchouli Clove soap here.
